Jeanine McCain is a dancer, choreographer, and interdisciplinary teaching artist. Her current performance research explores a sense of place within physical landscapes, and how this shapes us as humans. She is excited by improvisation, site-specific work, and using projection technology to create a sense of intimacy in performance. McCain’s recent work has been performed at University of Northern Colorado, World Dance Alliance Assembly in El Paso, TX, Sans Limites Performance Series in New York City, Philadelphia Fringe Arts Festival, and Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema, an international festival based in Boulder, Colorado. Her commitment to interdisciplinary artistic collaboration has earned her invitations to present at the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences, Temple Critical Geography Conference, Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities, and Imagine Festival co-sponsored by Dance Films Association and Earthdance. She holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BA in Dance and Theatre from the University of Montana. McCain serves as an Associate Professor of Dance at Ursinus College near Philadelphia, PA.
